Mark Heath is the Director of Mercaston Solutions Ltd, providing risk management, training, guidance and investigative support to public and private sector organisations in relation to labour exploitation within supply chains.
He is a former deputy director at the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority where he was employed from 2005 to 2020. At the GLAA Mark had the lead for prevention and partnerships, developing close working relationships with the public, private and third sectors. He wrote and implemented policies in relation to victim and witness care (to include the frontline response to modern slavery) along with the GLAA Spotting the Signs booklet.
He developed and delivered training to international partners including the UN Development Programme and the Dubai Judicial Institute, along with contributing to multi stakeholder initiatives and devising the GLAA Construction Protocol.
This followed a twenty year career as an investigator, which included being the Senior Investigating Officer on the largest investigation undertaken by the GLAA leading to the conviction of those involved in the unlicensed provision, and use, of labour.
