Marshalls Clean Up at the SWOT’s
Marshalls plc has won four prestigious marketing accolades, including the celebrated Grand Prix, at this year’s SWOT Awards, which recognise marketing excellence at a strategic level.
Marshalls, the UK’s market leader in hard landscaping, was awarded Best PR Strategy, for its integrated communications campaign, Marshalls for Sustainable Landscapes, which achieved high impact media coverage, raising awareness of ethical and environmental issues in hard landscaping, while achieving measurable increases in sales.
The winning PR Strategy was developed and delivered in partnership with Koan, a specialist campaign communications consultancy, which was also nominated for Marketing Services Company of the Year.
Marshalls also went on to win the Best Sponsorship Strategy Award for its three year sponsorship of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which in its first year alone has proved to be the most successful corporate partnership ever enjoyed by the RHS.
Marshalls’ Group Marketing Director, Chris Harrop, who initiated and championed both the PR and Sponsorship strategies, was recognised as Marketer of the Year Award for his team leadership and success in raising awareness of socially important issues, while delivering a highly targeted marketing strategy.
The SWOT Awards are open to all companies, consultancies and agencies in England and Wales, outside the M25. Held at the glamorous Hilton Hotel, Deansgate in Manchester, the awards recognise the most talented marketers and the most successful marketing plans produced outside of London.
“It’s great to see that the marketing world is growing to acknowledge the importance of real corporate responsibility, and reward businesses for credible and accountable campaigns,” says Chris. “Marshalls has a fantastic team of highly professional marketers and I’m proud to see them acknowledged for this work.
