Marshalls Showcase Innovations at SED 2008

Marshalls appearance at this year's SED Exhibition focused on how the company is supportingt and responding to Government documents.

Marshalls plc made another appearance at this year’s SED Exhibition (The National Event for Construction) with the message of how the company is supporting and responding to two key Government documents, ‘Future Water’ and ‘Manual for Streets’, to offer the construction industry sustainable solutions for the future.

This year’s SED featured over 452 companies showcasing the very latest in plant and technology. Visitor attendance was up 6.4% on 2007 with over 19,000 through the gates at this 3-day event. The show’s second day was officially the busiest in the events 42 year history.

Live demonstrations on Machine Laying of concrete block paving were shown to the attentive audience and Marshalls’ expert team were on hand to guide visitors through processes and technical details, giving advice on the efficiencies of using machine lay for quick and efficient laying of block paving.

Marshalls Machine Lay Commercial Manager, Steve Attfield commented “SED remains an important event to us, it underlines our important partnership with Probst Handling Equipment and demonstrates to the industry our understanding of assisted handling, ensuring that our products can be delivered and installed safely and quickly making Marshalls Machine Lay the primary choice for specifiers, contractors and installers.”

Marshalls highlighted the benefits of using permeable paving which was recently featured on BBC One’s ‘The One Show’ by using a demonstration tank to highlight how the paving allows surface water to pass through into the sub-base, allowing excess water to drain naturally.

Also on show was the new 1m Mini Beany kerb and drainage system which has been developed from the popular ‘mini beany’ in 1m lengths, enabling less handling, fewer drops and less concrete due to it’s unique design.
