Marshalls plc, the UK’s leading hard landscaping transformation company, has published its Corporate Social Responsibility Report for 2008. The new report describes the Group’s corporate, social and environmental activities for the twelve months to 30th June 2008.

Marshalls is universally recognised by its peers as a leading socially and environmentally responsible organisation committed to developing its business and products in a sustainable manner.

Highlights in this report include further recognition from Business in the Community (BITC) with their ‘Big Tick’ for Marshalls pioneering approach to supply chain management with particular regard to its ethical partnership with overseas suppliers.

Environmentally, Marshalls was a major prize winner in the International Green Apple Awards 2007, achieving the national Gold Award in recognition of its ‘Incorporating Biodiversity Benchmark into Integrated Management Systems’ project.

Marshalls’ West Lane site was awarded the esteemed ‘International Safety Award’ by the British Safety Council in May 2008 and the company announced its full support of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Campaign for School Gardening – a focus which was central to its high-profile association with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2008 and the medal winning ‘The Marshalls Garden That Kids Really Want!’
