21 year old Marshalls Register Member Matt Beesley has triumphed in Brazil bringing home a silver medal in landscape gardening from the WorldSkills competition.

The highly prestigious competition pitches 17 to 22 years old from across the globe against each other to demonstrate their excellence in a number of different skilled trades and technology contest areas.

Matt, who is joint owner of Beesleys Landscapes, in Winsford, Cheshire, got through a number of regional rounds before making it to the British team to go to Brazil for the grand final.

Matt is a fully qualified landscaper and horticulturalist having attained his qualifications at the prestigious Reaseheath College in Nantwich Cheshire. Beesleys Landscapes is a multi-award winning family run company which has been delivering stunning landscapes and driveways projects since 2007.

Matt said: “It was such a huge honour to be picked to travel to Brazil for the British WorldSkills team and to come home with a Silver is just incredible. I have worked exceptionally hard to become skilled in my trade and it’s fantastic to receive acknowledgement of that work.”

David Jessop, Marshalls Register Manager, said: “Huge congratulations to Matt, this is a very well deserved award as he is unbelievably skilled for someone of his age.

“Matt is a credit to the Marshalls Register; he works hard and his projects simply ooze quality, he is exactly the type of quality installer that we love to work with. Well done Matt!”
