Marshalls has launched a new colour, Buff, to its Croft Stone walling range. Croft Stone walling offers an easy-build retaining walling solution for your garden as you can easily transform your garden as the range is perfect for DIYers as no professional help is required. The walls are simple to install and, as no mortar is required, building time is greatly reduced – Making it a perfect DIY job for the Easter weekend!
The product’s dry installation ‘secret’ is provided by the innovative interlocking lip on the rear of the block that secures and stabilises the wall into place once construction and backfill has occurred (this retaining system is not suitable for freestanding or dividing walls).
Croft Stone walling can be used to build either straight or curved garden retaining walls, depending on the design required. The range has a rustic finish and will create an eye-catching design feature in any garden.
Croft walling requires no 'wet lay' concrete footing. A trench needs to be dug for the foundations and levelled off before a sub base is added (see Marshalls’ brochure or website for full details or call Marshalls Technical Advice Line 0870 4112233). Once the first course is laid and after each course is completed, 300mm of free draining material should be added behind the wall followed by backfill material if required (both available from local builders merchants) to within 40mm of the top of the block. If you happen to make a mistake, simply take the blocks off, one by one and rebuild until you’re totally satisfied. The top course can be secured with Marshalls’ M-Fix adhesive if required or preferred.
Croft Stone walling is available in Weathered and Buff and is available at Marshalls’ stockists nationwide.
