Howley Park Sandstone comes from the largest mineral reserve in West Yorkshire and is a high‑quality fine to medium‑grained stone suitable for a wide range of uses. Available in walling and masonry grades, it is supplied in typical block weights of 2–12 tonnes. The stone is predominantly grey or buff/brown in colour, with natural tonal variation and, in the grey masonry grade, occasional rust markings that add character to finished work. Its consistent texture makes it suitable for both contemporary and traditional architectural schemes, and it is commonly used for paving, walling, masonry, carving and detailed stonework.
