Quick Drying Screed

Marshalls' range of quick-drying screed solutions speeds up construction timelines without compromising on strength or finish.

What is quick-drying screed?

Quick drying screed is a specially formulated floor screed that reaches its full strength and moisture content much faster than traditional options. While standard screeds may take several weeks to dry, fast-drying screeds allow floor coverings to be installed in as little as 24 to 72 hours, depending on the product.

These screeds are ideal for projects with strict timeframes or when reducing downtime is a top priority. They are typically used as a levelling layer before installing tiles, vinyl, laminate, or other floor coverings.

Designed to support faster project turnaround, our screeds are ideal for time-sensitive commercial and industrial applications, helping you stay on schedule while achieving excellent results.

Whether you’re working to tight deadlines or simply want to reduce the waiting time before applying floor finishes, our quick dry screed options are the go-to choice in the construction industry.

When should you use quick-drying screed?

Quick dry screed is especially useful in the following scenarios:

  • Commercial or retail projects with tight deadlines

  • Healthcare or educational environments requiring minimal disruption

  • Fast-track refurbishments and fit-outs

  • Sites where early foot traffic or access is required

  • Areas where moisture-sensitive floor finishes will be used

Using a fast drying screed can help avoid delays, reduce labour costs, and get floors into service faster without sacrificing quality.

What are the different types of quick-drying screed?

Explore our fast-setting screeds designed to support efficient installations without compromising on finish or longevity.

Longfloor screed

This is our high-performance liquid cement screed - ideal for large-scale commercial and industrial applications.

Longfloor screed is available in C25 or C30 compressive strength. It provides rapid drying and is perfect for fast-paced projects. It's also compatible with underfloor heating and offers minimal shrinkage, helping ensure a flawless finish with fewer remedial works.

Premflow

Premflow is a free-flowing, cement-based screed designed for efficiency and ease of application. It boasts a quick drying time and high thermal conductivity, making it an ideal screed for underfloor heating systems.

This screed can typically receive foot traffic after 24-48 hours, while its low shrinkage and strong bond to subfloors make it a reliable choice for a wide range of environments, including care homes and hospitals.

Retanol screed

Our retanol screed is a rapid-setting cement screed that allows for foot traffic after just 24 hours and flooring installation within 48-72 hours. With high early strength and reduced moisture content, it’s well-suited to projects with tight schedules or where moisture-sensitive floor coverings are planned.

Retanol is designed for bonded and unbonded installations and supports thinner screed depths without sacrificing performance.
