Sharp Sand from Marshalls

Our Dry Screened Grit Sand – often called sharp sand or block paving sand – is processed to give you a clean, coarse and consistent material. By screening out oversized particles, through our vibrating screen or rotating drum, we ensure consistent quality that’s ideal for structural work, paving and landscaping projects.

Key features and uses:

  • Coarse, angular particles provide excellent drainage and stability
  • Ideal for block paving, where it forms a strong, compact bedding layer
  • Perfect for flagging, slab laying, screeding, and general groundwork
  • Suitable for concrete mixes requiring added strength and rigidity
  • Consistent grading ensures a professional finish across applications

Our grit sand is produced to a reliable standard, giving contractors, installers and landscapers a dependable product for all paving and bedding requirements.

Fill Sand from Marshalls

Our Fill Sand, sometimes referred to as dust or blinding sand, is a versatile and economical material used across construction and civil engineering projects.

Key features and uses:

  • Ideal as a blinding layer over sub‑base materials
  • Used for bedding utilities, such as pipes, ducts and drainage
  • Suitable for levelling uneven ground prior to construction
  • Provides a stable base beneath concrete, slabs and hard landscaping
  • Cost‑effective for large‑scale filling and ground preparation

Fill sand compacts well and is commonly used to create smooth, even surfaces before further construction takes place.
