The £180m redevelopment of Watford's Intu shopping centre transformed the mall into one of the UK's largest in-town shopping centres.

Marshalls worked directly with the contractor, Laing O'Rourke to place the order for the natural stone paving and handover to Vetters when they were appointed as sub-contractor.

For the pathways surrounding the shopping centre, Marshalls' Scoutmoor Yorkstone was chosen with a Capital surface finish to blend in with the existing paving in the area.

For the internal space, a blend of five granites was selected to form a mix ranging in colour from silver grey through to mid grey to black. Varying sizes were also used in the laying pattern to create an interesting band running through the larger flags.

The same granite mix has also been employed on the external approach to form a cohesive flow from the outside space into the shopping centre.
