Bringing green to Briggate: inclusive seating with a dinosaur twist

As part of Leeds City Council’s pop-up park initiative, Marshalls Landscape Protection transformed Briggate, Leeds’ busiest shopping street, into a vibrant green space with inclusive seating and a life-sized animatronic dinosaur.

Using the customisable Distrikt® timber seating range, Marshalls designed and installed a snaking 10m-long bench that mirrored the dinosaur’s curves and met DDA best practice for accessibility.

From concept to installation, Marshalls managed the entire process, delivering a solution that’s not only functional and inclusive but also visually striking. The result? A well-used, welcoming space that supports city centre recovery and community engagement.
