Head of Design & Engineering for Marshalls Landscaping
Phil Storey has more than 30 years’ experience across technical, specification and design roles within the landscaping and built environment sector. Since joining Marshalls in 1994, he has played a central role in the evolution of the company’s design and engineering capabilities and is now Head of Design & Engineering for Marshalls Landscaping.
Phil leads Marshalls’ multi-disciplinary Design & Engineering team, helping shape the integrated services and technical support that sit behind the company’s commercial landscaping offer. Working across surfaces, details and elements, the team supports clients, specifiers and contractors in bridging the gap between design ambition and practical delivery through buildable, commercially viable and sustainable solutions.
Representing the expertise and collaborative approach of the wider Marshalls Design & Engineering function (MaDE), Phil is a strong advocate for early engagement and joined-up thinking throughout the project lifecycle. He champions solutions that help customers simplify complexity, reduce risk and deliver more efficient, sustainable and confidence-led project outcomes.
Phil also plays an active role in supporting industry innovation and responding to evolving legislation and standards across the built environment. The work delivered by the Marshalls Design & Engineering team spans areas including pavement engineering, sustainable drainage, active travel infrastructure, street furniture, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation and BIM collaboration and the changing regulatory demands placed on modern public realm design.
As a recognised industry voice, Phil regularly speaks on topics including integrated landscape design, specification best practice, technical innovation, urban design trends, legislative change and the future of multifunctional public spaces.
