Road to net-zero

We’re reducing emissions across our operations, products and supply chain, guided by our SBTi-approved targets. Switching to cleaner fuels, sourcing renewable energy and generating solar power are some of the actions we’re taking to power our sites more sustainably. We’re also enabling customers to specify lower-carbon solutions with confidence through EPD coverage, captured-carbon bricks and our patent-pending concrete technologies.

We’re committed to minimising our impact on the environment. We focus on how we manufacture and transport our products, manage our waste responsibly, reuse timber pallets, recycle materials, and conserve water. We utilise recycled materials in our manufacturing processes and continue to reduce the amount of cement in our concrete products.  By trialling different mixes we’re lowering our product carbon footprints and supporting our customers to make better choices.

We continue to use plastic packaging when storing and transporting our products, where it’s necessary to keep everyone safe. However, we have made significant efforts to reduce non-essential plastic and introduced new solutions where we can, including our polyester plastic strapping that keeps product stable and safe and is now made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials.

Our key achievements

  • Science Based Targets initiative approved targets to reach net-zero by 2050

  • Named European Climate Leader by the Financial Times and Statista for the fourth time in 2025

  • EPDs for the majority of our core product range

  • Solar arrays at our sites (five sites in total) generate over 1 million kWh per year

  • Less than 1% of waste went to landfill in 2024

  • Biodiversity action plan programme in place for all extractive sites
