Self Build Heroes are a construction company specialising in new homes but with a focus on investing in our country’s veterans. They employ and train ex-military tradespeople to support them to find long-lasting careers outside of the forces.
Already accredited by our domestic Register Member scheme, Self Build Heroes are now being supported by us to create more training opportunities.
Self Build Heroes are currently looking to offer remote technical training followed by live on site work experience and certified training on block paving and patio laying. Outcomes of successful completion of the training will be formal Marshalls certification with the possibility of joining an accredited Marshalls installer in their local area, continuing as part of the Self Build Heroes team, or even starting up their own landscaping business.
The training project is based in Marlborough, Wiltshire and successful applicants will start at the end of March/early April, dependent on the national COVID policy in place at the time. There are a maximum of 10 places on the course and the closing date is Wednesday 17th March 2021.
Matthew Burrows is the Founder of Self Build Heroes and was previously in the Royal Air Force. He said: “This is a great opportunity for us to build on the work we already do to support our country’s veterans. The work we do can be life-changing for people coming out of the military not only in terms of career opportunities but also physical and mental health so it’s fantastic to be working with Marshalls to support even more people.”
Chris Churm, Domestic Commercial Director for Marshalls said: “Self Build Heroes do great work and we’re really pleased to be supporting them with this project to help bring more ex-military into landscaping careers. Not only does this give more opportunity to people who need it but it also helps increase capacity in the landscaping industry which is much-needed at the moment.”
Anyone who is interested in this opportunity should get in touch with as soon as possible, either on email email@example.com or by calling 0330 1333211.
