Combining a cutting-edge colour system with technology to lock in colour and lock out the elements, Marshalls has brought a concrete innovation to market after two years of development.

Lunar is a next-generation concrete paver, which uses cutting-edge technologies to deliver a uniquely beautiful aesthetic that lasts.

Developed with UK designers, Lunar is a versatile range of granite-inspired blends, brought to life through a new patented colour process. Colour application technology adheres each pigment in a random pattern, creating a multihued, subtle and elegant appearance that’s unique to every individual block.

This pioneering three-stage colouration process combines tones of greys, pastel pinks and blue-green hues to deliver a distinctive range inspired by the depth and variation of the moon’s surface.Lunar blocks and flags are available in a smooth finish with pencil-chamfered edges, creating a modern yet timeless classic look suitable for both pedestrianised and trafficked areas.

Lunar is the first product from Marshalls to use the cutting-edge colour system, which is complemented by MaxiMix Technology™ to lock in colour and lock out the elements. The high-quality blend of pigments, aggregates and binders creates an inseparable bonded surface layer that stands the test of time.

Featuring 30% more pigment and 30% more water-proofer than a standard concrete block product, Maximix Technology™ combines durability with enriched colour to give Lunar a greater resistance to UV fading and weather damage, protecting the finished aesthetic of a project for years to come.

Andrew Stalker, Product Innovation Manager, at Marshalls, said: “Lunar is the first in a series of planned innovations that Marshalls are bringing to market over the next 12 months. We’ve invested considerably in new technologies to drive product development and meet changing customer needs.

Lunar has been created with the tastes and trends of the UK market in mind as well as responding to the need for more British made materials with less miles to travel.

The technology developed for the manufacture of Lunar presents a raft of opportunities for further innovation so the current range is just the beginning.

From this month, to make product selection even easier for specifiers,  Marshalls new digital product visualiser tool will be live on the company website, helping designers visualise Lunar in their project and download design files.
