All Marshalls Indian Sandstone paving is covered by the Marshalls Stone Standard quality mark of assurance. Where the Marshalls Stone Standard logo is visible on a sandstone page, be assured that this product not only meets but exceeds the base technical levels outlined in the British Standard.
The natural origin of stone means variation in colour, texture and natural markings is inevitable. Marshalls strive through expert hand selection to ensure the integrity of each natural stone range, however as in all natural products some variation may occur.
Natural Stone products come with specific installation guidelines.

For best practice, please slurry prime all natural stone and porcelain paving using Marshalls Paving Primer.

Scoutmoor
This pack is made up of random length pieces between 300 – 900mm. 15 linear metres of each gauge supplied. 18m2 coverage without joints. Depending on the sizes in the pack the coverage with a joint will be between 18.5m2 and 19m2.

Sawn Versuro

When using Large Size, due to the weight of the units mechanically aided lifting is essential.

Granite Eclipse
As Granite Eclipse is a natural material, varying degrees of quartz veining may be apparent in some pieces. Occasionally small micro-fissures can be apparent within Granite Eclipse Graphite, these are not a sign of weakness and cause no issue technically to the stone.
Make sure, if used indoors, paving is sealed with a proprietary water-based acrylic sealant.
This paving is ideal for use with Exterior Tile Grout. We would advise the application of a Temporary Stone Sealer before the application of the grout to maintain the finish to the paving.

Antique Alverno
This paving is carefully calibrated to a consistent thickness to ensure speed and precision of installation.

Casarta Slate
Natural slate inevitably shows variation in colour, so viewing the actual samples is always recommended.
Dark slate sometimes exhibit surface blemishes during installation, these will weather in over time.

This is a natural split product; the thickness can therefore vary between 18-24mm.

Limestone Aluri and Sylvern
This natural limestone may inevitably present minor variations in colour, texture, and markings. This is a natural characteristic of this product.
Please note that this product can lighten slightly over a period time. This is a natural weathering process.
Cleaning with acid-based products should be avoided because this will cause a rapid lightening of the surface.

Indian Sandstone Riven
Surface imperfections may present themselves on the surface of the product following installation. This happens when natural minerals already held within the stone, become exposed to the elements. This is aesthetic and does not impact the durability of the stone itself. If this causes a concern, there are products available to remove most imperfections. Always lay larger face upwards.

Sizes and coverage are those attained when laid with a 10mm joint. All the natural stone ranges are made from natural stone products meaning they are subject to colour variation as they are a naturally sourced product.
Porcelain SYMPHONY, Adara, Arrento Core & Arrento Encore
Prior to handling and installation, check the paving for damage. Complaints about visible damage will not be accepted after installation.
There may be some colour variation between production batches. Batch codes, quantity and colour should therefore be checked prior to install.
A dry lay of this product is recommended before installing onto the full mortar bed to ensure the best colour blend is achieved.
Please make a note of the shade code of the product you have received. This will be advantageous if you need to place orders at a later date to complete a job as it will allow us to send the best match possible.
Customers should not mix different sizes of the same colour, as there could be colour/shade variation due to the different batches.
Porcelain paving must be primed with a Marshalls Paving Primer before installing onto a full mortar bed. All building materials should be protected from bad weather, both during storage and after initial installation.
Packs of SYMPHONY are supplied with just the right amount of your chosen jointing product. Choose between Exterior Jointing Grout or Exterior Tile Grout.
For perfect results these products require appropriate cutting tools and correct installation techniques. Consult a Marshalls Register installer or contact Group Technical Services for further information.
Arrento individual sizes are not suitable to be installed together, even if the batch code is the same.
Coverage is obtained when laid with a 5-8mm joint width. These ranges are available as part of our bespoke service.
Argent, Modal X
For a contemporary look choose Argent Smooth, for greater slip skid properties try Argent Textured.
Sizes and coverage are actual and do not include joint width.
Modal X Only: Red Kiln Dried Sand can cause staining to occur, especially on lighter materials. This is caused from natural minerals leeching from the sand when it is wet. This is extremely difficult to remove once contaminated. We would advise the use of generic standard “Silver Kiln Dried Sand” , when brushing in, on all Modal x products, to avoid disappointment.
Infinia Patio
- What maintenance does the product require?
- Infinia is very low maintenance and is similar to porcelain. We recommend people avoid using excessively acidic products, and do not use abrasive sponges. We do not recommend the use of polishing machines or waxes. Although Infinia slabs are stain resistant, care must still be taken with spillages and use of cleaning materials.
- What subbase should I use with Infinia?
- Installation is no different to ordinary concrete paving in which we advise a rigid bed. It is recommended to use a string line to ensure the required bond pattern is maintained and straight lines are achieved.
- What jointing product works best with Infinia?
- We are confident to recommend Marshalls Exterior Jointing Grout for patio
- What joint width is recommended for Infinia?
We recommend the joint width remains within 2-5mm
- How do we recommend cutting Infinia?
- Cutting may be carried out using a water and dust suppressed diamond tipped power saw or a block-splitting guillotine. No specialist blades are required which is advantageous compared to porcelain.
- Is there a lot of colour variation between batches?
- The innovative surface technology used in the manufacture of Infinia effectively minimises colour variation batch to batch; however, complete elimination cannot be guaranteed. To prevent this, we advise product is from the same production for single consecutive areas and during installation, the material is thoroughly mixed on site, drawing from a minimum of three packs simultaneously where possible.
Heritage
Paving should be bedded on a full bed of mortar with rigid joints. Sizes and coverage are actual and do not include joint width.

Textured & Utility Paving
Although performance is good, sizes and colours will be limited, and finish may be varied.
Sizes listed assume 10mm joint width. Utility paving is ideal for service areas where high finish aesthetics is less important.
Perfecta
Yorkstone aggregates, give this product excellent nonslip properties, even when wet.
This paving is ideal for jointing with Marshalls WeatherPoint 365 Jointing Compound or Marshalls
Woodstone
Replicates traditional wooden railway sleepers
Sleepers are faced on one side only
The manufacturing process means that Woodstone should be bedded on mortar
Joints should either be open (25-50mm) and completely free-draining or 8-15mm wide and fully pointed with mortar
Do not use de-icing salts or chlorine-based
