Now more than ever it is important that people have access to mindful activities, nature and green space and for this reason we’re pleased to have supported The Secret Garden project at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester.

The Secret Garden recently opened to hospital patients, visitors, staff and the community, and features a restored Victorian walled garden. Visitors with mental health issues will be given the chance to take part in therapeutic gardening activities, and it will become a space for everyone to admire and spend time in too. Future phases include a learning centre, café and shop, as well as a heritage centre.

The garden has been designed and project managed by Bowmer + Kirkland as part of their commitment to supporting the communities of Leicester, we were pleased to donate paving and edging stones to create a number of new areas.

Nick Tooley, Wellbeing and Engagement Manager from Bowmer + Kirkland said: “Thank you to Marshalls for their support on this project, the donations have helped to create beautiful spaces which will be enjoyed by many in the coming months and years.”
